Cinematic Taiwan
Humidity strikes first. At times, unbearable as in Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam. Then you get hit by the streets, the blocks of flats, the influx of people and the smells. All that encompassed by a feeling of a modern society but also one, where "order" seems to be at the top of priorities. Taiwan is a mixture of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and American influences which date back to the 17th century. Under the shade of the People's Republic of China and its relentless urge for control it tries to establish its own identity in an uneven battle. In the meantime, this semi-autonomous island is powering the world's economy.
Here is a handful of shots from the streets of Taipei and some of its nature from Taiwan's East coast.
